" fascism was stamped on hard, too hard" - ugh, here I think that one treads a very, very fine line here. At the very least, myth and vision of FPÖ is not the myth I would admire and wish to be a part of, - and it is not particularly Christian, more general clinging to the "good old days".

You raise a very interesting question here. I think an individual or a small community can do it and do rather well…when you have wealth, education, resources, prosperity, personal and financial freedom, etc. - see the agnostic or liberal upper-middle class with university background. One can live without some higher aim in life, when there is enough pleasure in the "earth" life.
But a larger community with poorer ones…well, here the problem begins. See all the second-generation radicalised muslim youth in ghetto suburbs, without deep cultural roots to any culture, family religion or some respect to elders, without education, job, perspective in life, just with cabel TV, Twitter etc - and where it got them.
